The incident occurred in Ayden district in western Turkey
Seven people died in an explosion that occurred today at a restaurant in Nazilli town, Aydan county, western Turkey. The Associated Press reports it. Aidan Hüseyin’s deputy Aksoy told CNN-Turk that five other people were injured in the blast, one of whom was in critical condition.

Aksoy also said that in his preliminary testimony, an employee of the restaurant said there was a leak from a gas cylinder which caused it to explode at around 3:35pm. Local media reported that the explosion was followed by a fire at the Dune restaurant. . Video footage shows fire engines and ambulances at the scene.

Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag tweeted that a suspect who may have caused the explosion has been arrested. Three prosecutors are in charge of the investigation.
