There is a change in the goalkeeper’s position at second division side Grazer AK: substitute goalkeeper Josef Gruber leaves Styrians again after six months. The 24-year-old arrived from regional league side Hertha Wels before the start of the season, but he did not progress beyond his role as third goalkeeper in Graz and remained unused. His contract, originally until the end of the season, was terminated early.
He is now replaced by 19-year-old Maximilian Fahler. Fahler comes from the Ostliga of Krems, for which he played one game as second goalkeeper until the winter break. He is now signing a contract in the Styrian capital until 2024.
Sports director Dieter Elsneg said of the castling: “After Josef’s departure, we are happy to have signed a talented goalkeeper like Max Fahler, who was able to convince us in the training sessions. We are looking forward to a young and motivated goalkeeper who will definitely fit into the team!
This summer Josef has changed #Gruber in Graz and completed our goalkeeping trio.
