Andrew Tate tries to provoke Greta Thunberg with a tweet. Climate activist berates former kickboxer – below the belt.
Berlin – In the past, the US influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate has repeatedly made misogynistic statements and negative headlines. In a post on the short message service Twitter, he tried to provoke climate activist Greta Thunberg, apparently without success.
Tate had bragged about the number of cars he owned. “I have 33 cars,” he wrote on Tuesday (Dec. 27). “Please give me your email address so I can send you a complete list of my car collection and huge emissions,” added the influencer, addressing the pioneer of the global climate protection movement Fridays for Future. Tate shared a photo of him posing next to his Bugatti.
Greta Thunberg on Andrew Tate: ‘Yes, please enlighten me’
However, Thunberg couldn’t stand it. “Yes, please enlighten me,” the 19-year-old retorted. “Email me at [email protected],” reads the German translation of his English-language tweet. His reaction has since received a lot of support from the Twitter community. His post had more than 2.4 million likes on Thursday (Dec. 29).
“This may be the best tweet ever,” commented US Attorney George Conway. “36-year-old 6-foot, 200-pound boy fights with 19-year-old girl and loses in front of 50 million people,” wrote screenwriter Ed Solomon, referring to the tweet’s view count. More than 150 million people have seen Thunberg’s post.

“How dare you?” Tate replied to Thunberg’s post. In a subsequent registration video teased the 19-year-old. His videos are always aimed at misogynistic statements and provocations. In his view, women are considered the property of men and rape victims share the responsibility for their suffering German Press Agency (dpa).
Tate now serves as a life coach, giving paid lessons to young people on how to emulate his narratives. Due to her statements, her Twitter account was blocked. After Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter in late October 2022, Tate’s profile was once again unblocked. However, her profiles on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook remain blocked. (kas/dpa)
