OJK boss shocked trading hours and ARB changed, who did it?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has issued a Decree (SK) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) regarding the changes to trading on the exchange at 09:00-16:00 WIB and the automatic rejection lower limit (ARB) is returned to a symmetrical 20%-35%.

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) said stock authorities and regulators would continue to conduct studies into these two issues. Chief Executive Officer of OJK’s Capital Market Supervision Inarno Djajadi said he was surprised by the information on the ARB’s changes.

“We will look into the auto-rejection. I was also surprised yesterday, really, there was news that ARB would be back,” he said at a press conference at the Jakarta IDX building on Thursday (12/29/2022).

Inarno explained, his party would conduct a phased review. If in case trading hours and auto-reject return to normal, things will be done in stages. “Even if we normalize it, maybe hopefully. We’ll look into it and gradually normalize it,” he said.

During the pandemic, trading on the exchange starts at 09:00 WIB, with a break between 11:30 and 13:00 WIB and closes at 15:30 WIB. This is shorter than normal conditions.

Currently, the implementation of the new protocol on the Jakarta Automated Trading System (JATS) and the Market Order Fill and Kill (FAK) in the pre-opening and pre-closing sessions has come into force.
