The controversial acquisition of activision for the Microsoft it just got new updates and now, according to information, the purchase has been approved in Chile. It is worth mentioning that Japan, Brazil, Serbia and Saudi Arabia had already approved the purchase.
Known as FNE in Chile, they did the approval still in Phase 1 after ruling out that it would substantially reduce competition. The prosecution appears to have considered that the operation was not adequate to reduce competition, given the standards and preferences of Chilean players.
“It was felt that the number of consumers who would prefer to switch consoles when faced with a lock-down strategy would also be lower, as verified through a survey conducted with Chilean consumers, and that the significant revenues generated by PlayStation in favor of ABK would discourage the adoption of a blocking strategy”.

It is worth mentioning that the purchase has been approved does not mean that it has yet been made, since Microsoft is fighting against antitrust bodies, mainly with the US FTC, which it accuses of violating the Constitution to try to block the acquisition of activision.
The thing is, many people thought the acquisition would go through without minor issues, but the reality is, it’s been a long and torturous process. The FTC took the settlement to the administrative court, but Microsoft decided to fight back and said, in a defense filing, that the FTC’s decision would violate the Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution.
The company reiterated that the deal should be allowed as Xbox and Activision are just two of hundreds of game makers. In short, it is still difficult to say whether the acquisition, a deal worth about 69 billion dollars, will go through or not.
