A number of conditions can get rid of Malaysian National from AFF Cup 2022 after losing badly to Vietnam. Here are 3 scenarios for Malaysia elimination from AFF Cup 2022.
Malaysia failed to secure a third-place finish in Group B of the 2022 AFF Cup after being beaten by hosts Vietnam 0-3 at My Dinh Stadium on Tuesday (27/12).
The loss dropped Harimau Malaya to second place in the group standings with a collection of six points from three matches.
Three teams in group B have the same value, six points. However, Vietnam have the right to be at the top of the table due to superior goal difference. Malaysia is superior to Singapore due to superior target productivity.
However, playing three matches, Malaysia’s chances of advancing to the semi-finals of the 2022 AFF Cup could be under threat.
Kim Pan Gon’s team left a match in Group B against Singapore in their last match. Meanwhile, Vietnam and Singapore have two games remaining.

By winning Vietnam, Singapore can still get rid of Malaysia, regardless of the results of their last match in Group B. However, with a footnote, Singapore’s productivity and goal difference are better than Malaysia.
3. Singapore beats Malaysia
Beating Malaysia is the result Singapore must achieve to eliminate Malaysia from the AFF Cup 2022.
