Sparta Prague were strengthened by Albania midfielder Qazim Laçi. The 26-year-old arrived from Ajaccio in France and signed a multi-year contract at Letná. Sparta reported this on their website today.
“With the arrival of Qazim, we get a central midfielder who, with his different typology, will perfectly complement our existing central line and give the manager a wide range of options in the center of the team.” said sporting director Tomáš Rosicý.
“He is used to physically demanding matches in the two top French competitions. He is technically equipped, he can change the pace of the game, accelerate it and enter the opponent’s goal from the back of the pitch. He passes well and has a winning mentality.” Rosicky said.

Laci is Sparta’s second winter signing after another midfielder, Finnish international Kaan Kairinen, who moved from Norway’s Lilleström. He was born in Albania but soon moved with his parents to Greece, where he grew up playing football at Olympiakos Piraeus. He has only played one cup match in his A team. He has played for APOEL Nicosia and Levadiakos in Greece.
Since the 2017/18 season, he has worked for Ajaccio, which he helped move up to the top division in the spring. He played nine games there. He had previously made 137 appearances in the French second division, scoring 10 goals.
