THE BALL – Mbappé and Argentina’s celebrations after the World Cup final: “We mustn’t waste energy on futile things” (Paris Saint-Germain)

Kylian Mbappé (PSG) claims he detracted from Argentina’s celebrations after winning the World Cup, where he was targeted by some players, notably goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.

“I spoke to Messi after the game, I complimented him. He knew that worlds were something he had searched for all his life. I also wanted to win, but I failed. Celebrations are not a problem. We mustn’t waste energy on futile things, the important thing now is to do my best for the club. We look forward to Messi’s return,” said the French striker.

France were terrible on penalties at the end of the World Cup, converting only two. Mbappé, who didn’t fail at the time, scored the goal that earned PSG victory this Wednesday, in the 90+6′ minute, precisely from a maximum free-kick, against Strabourg: “Was there more pressure? They are different emotions. Here I knew that my goal would give the victory. At the World Cup we don’t know. They are different emotions”.
