Lisandro Martínez they returned to Manchester United after leading Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup. Martinez’s return is welcome news for MU in a busy year-end schedule.
Martinez appeared at MU’s training center in Carrington on Wednesday (12/28/2022) or 10 days after the final World Cup 2022. While the MU players underwent a recovery session after facing Nottingham Forest.
Martinez made four appearances at the 2022 World Cup. The 24-year-old defender did not play in the final against France, which had to be decided on penalties.
Martinez had returned to Argentina to celebrate La Albiceleste’s success at the 2022 World Cup. Martinez was the only MU player on the Argentina team to become world champion.
The return of Lisandro Martinez has given MU a breath of fresh air. The Red Devils are currently facing a busy schedule at the end of the year with less than ideal squad shape.
Raphael Varane, who also reached the 2022 World Cup final with France, was quickly installed as a starter against Nottingham Forest even though he was not fully fit. Without his main defenders, Ten Hag also played Casemiro and Luke Shaw in the central defender position.
However, it is not yet known whether Lisandro Martinez will be able to show up immediately in the next MU game. After winning against Nottingham, MU take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday (31/12/2022) night WIB.
