A dog dyed the same color as “Pikachu” from the Pokemon anime has appeared in NBA stadium, sparking animal abuse controversy.
The British Daily Star reported on the “baby Pikachu” who appeared in the NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Minnesota Timberwolves held on the same day on the 27th (local time). A cameraman filming viewers caught the puppy with yellow fur, black ear tips and red cheeks in his owner’s arms.
Broadcasters were blown away when they saw the puppy. A TV reporter, who laughed as if he was amazed, said: “I don’t think the puppy agreed to dye himself like that.”
The broadcast video spread through Twitter and Instagram. Most of the netizens who saw the baby Pikachu criticized the dog’s owner for committing animal cruelty to get attention. On the other hand, there have been netizens who have championed the dye, stating that dog dyes made from natural ingredients aren’t as harmful to dogs as they thought.
