The newspaper reports that the national KEP (courier, express, parcel) market has grown very dynamically so far. However, as stated in Rzeczpospolita, industry, which is a litmus test of the consumer economy, has clearly slowed down since the fourth quarter. Even the holiday shopping frenzy did not bring a rebound.
The data obtained by “Rzeczpospolita” proves this In 2017, peak parcels only resulted in a 5-7% increase in demand for courier services. And this, according to the newspaper, several times lower than in previous years.
The newspaper notes that KEP companies have no doubts that expensive fuels, the energy crisis and inflation will leave their mark on the sector next year.
“Analysts think so much will depend on the conditions of the economy and the real purchasing power of consumers (the results of the courier sector are strongly correlated to the results of the e-commerce sales). But there is no need to expect a parcel boom next year,” reads Rzeczpospolita.
