Why do hockey players weigh so much compared to soccer and tennis players?
Once I took the trouble to go through the player lists of various sports on Sport.de and analyze them by height and weight (I have no other hobbies… ๐
Assuming a normal weight (height in cm minus 100), the average for soccer and tennis players is around -7, but for ice hockey players it is around +5. Handball and basketball players at about +/- 0.
What are these big differences? Is it an advantage to weigh more as an ice hockey player or, conversely, to weigh less as a soccer/tennis player?
