Qatar announces an exceptional decision regarding Messi’s residence during the World Cup

Qatar University announced on Tuesday the use of the room of Argentine legend Lionel Messi, who was chosen as the best player of the World Cup in Qatar, after winning the cup his country had been absent for more than three decades, to become a “miniature museum”.

The university said on its Twitter account: “Qatar University announces the allocation of the room where Argentina national player Lionel Messi stayed during the Qatar World Cup period to become a mini-museum.”

Messi took his tally to 37 titles in a triumphant march that saw him win every tournament without exception, and rose to the ranks of football legends alongside Brazilian Pele and his compatriot Maradona.

In his most recent World Cup finals appearance, Messi broke many records, including his appearance in his 26th World Cup match, as he scored two goals from his side’s hat-trick in a thrilling 3-3 draw against France, before resorting to the penalty shootout scenario that smiled at Argentina.

Christophe Galtier, French coach of Paris Saint-Germain, has instead announced that Messi will return to his team’s training sessions on January 2 or 3, after having had a rest period after the World Cup.

Messi will most likely not be with the French capital team until the 18th stage of the French championship, when he will receive Angers.

Saint-Germain are in first place in the French league, with 41 points, five points behind Lens II.

Saint-Germain hopes to use the brilliance of its two stars, Messi and Kylian Mbappe, in the World Cup, after the two players reach the final, to seek the European Champions League title after a long wait, as it will be in a appointment with a fiery confrontation against Bayern Munich in the final round of prizes, starting from 14 February next.
