National Cinema Center (NKC) plans to distribute €250,000 in the competition to support Latvian film marketing, continuing education of industry professionals and industry events, according to information on the NKC website.

The purpose of the competition is to promote the recognition of Latvian films as well as the growth and competitiveness of industry professionals by supporting projects that can be realized within one year of their submission to the competition.
The competition will support project cost items such as marketing expenses for premiere and demonstration of films in cinemas in Latvia and online platforms in Latvia, participation of films in international events abroad and preparation of retrospectives, as well as activities of marketing in important international art film events.
It is also expected to bear the cost items of the project, which refer to marketing expenses for the participation of projects in film project markets supported by the creative industry support fund “Media” abroad, expenses for participation in master classes and seminars supported by “Media” abroad, expenses for organizing master classes, seminars and industry events in Latvia, as well as for organizing industry events during international film festivals in Latvia.
The deadline for submitting projects for all project types is open until 30 November 2023. Evaluation takes place once a month.
