Last August, Culture Minister Rima Abdul-Malak came there to kick off the fifth edition of the Heritage Lotus. The castle of Maison Blanche, in Gagny (Seine-Saint-Denis) was on the list of “100 sites in danger” selected by the Heritage Mission to benefit from a financial boost for its restoration. Here he is with a nice envelope of 300,000 euros, the result of the winnings of the Loto de la FDJ, which a hundred winners in France share (20 million euros).
Built in the 17th century, this classically styled château, once owned by Philip II of Orléans, was a hotel before being bought by the municipality in the 1990s. For a long time it housed a philatelic association but was never opened to the public . The exterior has already been refurbished, but the interior needed a makeover. The reclamation, adjustment and consolidation works will therefore be carried out there from April 2023.
