According to him, due to the fact that a number of partners recognized the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism or a terrorist state, it has lost its economic sovereignty, since it cannot directly purchase key technological products in any country, including for the repair of his military equipment.
“Well, the same planes, for example. That is, today he can buy something somewhere only through intermediaries. And the status of a sponsoring country of terrorism even removes these intermediaries and only criminal intermediaries remain. And this is a different price, and other opportunities and constant monitoring by world auditors. That is, Russia is less and less able to effectively conduct its foreign economic policy,” Podolyak said.
He also added that such statuses also limit the circle of countries that will agree to cooperate with Russia in the economic sphere.
“Today, sanctions limit Russia’s opportunities, and the legal status of a country that sponsors terrorism further limits these opportunities. And countries that take a neutral position, including on sanctions, will think for a long time whether it is necessary to have certain economic relations with the Russia, because other states that consider the Russian Federation a sponsor of terrorism will not have cordial relations with this country,” explained the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office.
