An industrial building in the town of Lena in Østre Toten is on fire. Parts of the building collapsed.
Emergency services went to a potato factory in the municipality of Østre-Toten on Monday afternoon, following reports of a fire.
– The fire brigade is here now, and it’s clearly burning well there. There is a complete fire in part of the building, Innlandet Police District Operations Director Stig Folstad Hansen told VG.
Parts of the building have collapsed and there is a danger that the fire could spread to other parts of the building.
– We have no information suggesting that there will be people in the building, but we can’t rule that out completely, says Folstad Hansen.
It is currently believed that there is no need to evacuate nearby houses.
There is a fire in the factory building where Totenpotatene rents a part.
– The firefighters are doing everything possible to put out the fire. There is no fire inside our house, but there is smoke there. I hope they can put out the fire before it spreads, Totenpotetene operations manager Bjørn Ingolf Sørum tells VG.
He’s in the factory and he says there were flames coming out of the building. For now, the fire is not inside their place, but in another part of the building, according to Sørum.
Toten Glass and Aluminum is also located here. General manager Øystein Amlien says there doesn’t appear to be a fire against them either, but in a warehouse.
Point out that it is not clear where exactly the fire is.
