Russian President Vladimir Putin said he was “ready to negotiate a solution acceptable to all parties” to the Ukrainian crisis.
President Putin said this yesterday (25) in an interview on Russian state TV “Rosiya 1”, saying: “It’s not us who refuse to negotiate, it’s them”, and attributed the long war to Ukraine and the ‘West.
In response, Ukrainian presidential aide Mikhailo Podolyak tweeted: “Russia doesn’t want to negotiate, it just wants to avoid accountability.”
Meanwhile, even on Christmas Day, when President Putin was discussing the negotiations, anti-aircraft alarms from the Russian Air Force sounded all over Ukraine.
The Ukrainian military also said that about 40 Russian shells fell on industrial estates in cities in the eastern Donetsk region on the same day.
The day before the Russian military fired about 70 shots in the southern city of Kherson, which Ukraine retook last month, killing 16 Ukrainian civilians, Ukrainian authorities said.
