Vasco is negotiating with Corinthians to sign goalkeeper Ivan, who is at Zenit. The club has presented a proposal to the San Paolo team and is awaiting a response. There is optimism for a positive outcome, given that Timão’s management has shown itself willing to negotiate, but there is still no agreement.
The value of the proposal has not been revealed, but Corinthians want to recover at least what they invested at the beginning of the year, when the club brought the goalkeeper from Ponte Preta. At that time, Macaca released the goalkeeper in exchange for paying a debt of approximately R $ 11 million with the player’s coach. Corinthians has acquired 50% of the economic rights. Another 50% is related to the player and Elenko Sports.
The relationship between the managers of Vasco and Corinthians, which last week agreed to buy full-back Lucas Piton for R$ 16 million, should facilitate negotiations in relation to Ivan.
In addition to the agreement with Corinthians, Vasco must also find an agreement with Ivan. There was still no understanding with the goalkeeper. The deal was first reported by Gazeta Esportiva.
Ivan is 25 years old and has distinguished himself in Ponte Preta. Seen as one of the great promises of the charge in Brazil, he was called up to the Brazilian national team by Tite in 2019, for friendlies against Colombia and Peru.
Signed by Corinthians in January, Ivan was loaned to Zenit in the deal for Yuri Alberto. In Russia he started some cup matches but was limited in space, which should anticipate his return to Brazil.
Ivan is on loan at Zenit until mid-2023. If you want to keep him outright, the Russian club has to pay €4m for 80% of the rights, the equivalent of R$21.7m at the current price.
