A 12-year-old Dutch girl died yesterday following a skiing accident in Austria. According to the police, the girl lost her balance during a descent, she fell off the track and crashed into a tree.
The accident occurred in the Spieljoch ski area in Tyrol, on the northern side of the Zillertal. Emergency services flew the girl to a hospital in Innsbruck by trauma helicopter. She there she died of her injuries.
Earlier in the day, a 62-year-old Dutch woman was seriously injured in a skiing accident in Kitzbühel, also in Tyrol, according to broadcaster ORF. She collided with a man from Germany on the track.
The woman is hospitalized in Innsbruck hospital. It is not known how she is now.
