The year 2023 is about to arrive and will be full of news. And is that new Law on climate change and energy transition establishes that from January 1, 2023 all the municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitantsas well as island territories and municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants with air quality harmful to health, must include Limited Traffic Zones (ZBE) in their urban centres.
Spain currently has 149 municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitantswhere they reside more than 25 million people (more than half of the inhabitants of the entire national territory), according to art National Institute of Statistics. Next, we detail which are the 149 municipalities that will have a Limited Traffic Zone for the whole of 2023.
