“Gargle! Romania is experiencing a miracle.” The touching Christmas monologue of Mayor Vasile of Las Fierbinți – VIDEO

Vasile, the mayor of Las Fierbinți, from the series of the same name broadcast by PRO TV, played by actor Gheorghe Ifrim, draws a painful conclusion in the special episode broadcast on the first day of Christmas on reality in Romania, a state that works wonders because the “dragon ” which is all over the country, referring to the poverty that oppresses more people than ever after 1989, and to the gargles of politicians, recalling various projects that remained only on paper, such as “Educated Romania”, highways, schools and the new hospitals promised by the authorities .

“Do you think it’s easy to be mayor? I tell you. It’s not,” Mayor Vasile begins his monologue from Las Fierbinți. “When I entered politics, I wanted to do good. Not to me, to those who voted for me. And not just them. Everyone. I mean you. However, even in politics, the calculation at home does not coincide with that at the fair. I I came across elderly and less young people in office like me who wouldn’t allow me to do you good if I didn’t do them good first”, continues the mayor.

Vasile tells the villagers that in this way the man who came before the election no longer existed, becoming “bad, cowardly, liar”.

Vasile tells them that he lied when someone asked him if there was a “dragon” in their small town, bitterly saying that the monster from fairy tales is all over Romania.

“A dragon eating our days: poverty!” says the mayor in a stressed tone.

“When it was good in Europe, it was bad here. Now it’s bad in Europe and it’s even worse here!” claims the mayor of Las Fierbinți, who argues that the dragon must be defeated together with the entire political class in Romania.

The mayor continues his monologue by saying that he is tired of gargling politicians, including his own, referring to ambitious projects that the top management kept talking about, but did nothing.

“Educated Romania? Gargle! Without money what education to do? Thousands of kilometers of highways? Gargle! Hundreds of new hospitals? Gargle! New schools? Gargle!” says Vasile bitterly.

“Romania works by a miracle”

The mayor of Las Fierbinți comes to the conclusion that Romania is a miracle because it works without too many things.

“It’s a miracle that it’s still on the map. Only by a miracle the trains are still running on these old tracks and unchanged for 50 years. Only by a miracle we no longer have 10 Collectives. Only by a miracle we don’t have 10 Giulești Maternity Hospital. Romania is doing a miracle, it’s not going according to a plan, according to a manual because there is no system, no rules, everything is done by ear”, continues Vasile, who claims that the rules are made according to how the wind blows and according to what great is the “hunger for money”.

And this miracle in Romania has been working for decades because of the politicians, according to the mayor.

Mayor Vasile apologizes on Christmas night in front of the locals, totally surprised by the gesture made by the one who leads the small village of Munteania.

The policeman Robi, played by the actor Leonid Doni, congratulates the mayor Vasile at the end of the monologue, telling him that “he is not stupid”, and that, in fact, with this speech he won his future mandate, a better idea than to give buckets, oil or flour, the sad looking mayor who was not honestly believed.

“Curse of a politician, that’s it! No matter what you say, nobody believes you,” Robi replies calmly.
