The Friends of Aubais meet regularly on their premises. The club was created in 1974 (Lou Santo ro, the first). Members gather for a ride, to play games, or just to hang out.
Thursday 22 December gathered to celebrate 100 years of Geneviève Chantrot. She was born in Villosange, in Puy-de-Dôme, she came to harvest in Aubais, she met Maurice and she never left. Later three children arrived: Mauricette, Dominique and Alain.
Having become a wine negotiator, she still lives in Aubais. “I am very happy, because my nephew Vincent came from Australia for my birthday”, she says. Christine Lozet read him a short poem, the mayor, Angel Pobo, a short speech and Aubais’ friends – Marie Jeanne and Joël – served glasses of champagne.
The candles were suddenly blown out by Geneviève Chantrot on the cake made by Bruno, from Eko-food.
Aubais can be proud of two centenarians, proof that life is good in the village.
