Stellantis Polska has announced the start of a major service campaign for French cars. The problem is serious because a detected fault in the vehicles software “may affect the diagnosis of the brake assist system, which can lead to a risk of little or no assistance during braking”. Fortunately, we know what needs to be improved.

What cars have been called for service?
The repair action applies to Peugeot, Citroen and DS cars. The following models were affected: 208, 2008, 308, 3008, 5008 and Partner (Peugeot) as well as C3, C3 Aircross, C4, C4 Cactus, C4 Picasso, C4 Spacetourer, DS3 and DS4 (Citroen).
Unfortunately the company did not inform UOKiK about the years and production run of these cars, but a total of 9,000 cars are known to have been called into service. 482 copies sold on the Polish market. According to the announcement posted on the office’s website, all landlords have already been notified of the need to contact the ASO.

What will be fixed as part of the action?
A fault has been detected in the software which may affect the braking force, therefore the service technicians will update it. The new version will improve braking system diagnostics, and this to eliminate the risk of reduced or total loss of power assistance.
