The Pajero car driven by Brigadier General Eko Setyawan Airlangga and his wife was crushed by an overturned sand truck on Jalan Raya Transyogi, Cimanggis District, Depok City, West Java. The incident is known to have been resolved amicably.
“It was resolved peacefully,” the head of the TNI Information Center, Laksma Kisdiyanto, told reporters on Sunday (25/12/2022).
Kisdiyanto said Brigadier General Airlangga suffered minor injuries in the incident. However, currently the condition of the wound is good and in good health.
“For both of them, they are healthy. The wound is just a scratch on the hand,” said Kisdiyanto.
The truck driver was shocked to hear the sound of Brigadier General Airlangga’s car siren
Kisdiyanto said the accident was triggered when the truck driver was startled to hear the siren from Brigadier General Airlangga’s car. Initially the two cars started from Cibubur.
“Trucks are in the right lane and Mitsubishi Pajero vehicles are in the middle lane,” said Kisdiyanto.
The accident started when the Pajero car driven by Brigadier General Airlangga changed lanes from the center to the right. At that time, Brigadier General Airlangga’s car intended to drive back to the spot.
Brigadier General Airlangga’s car then turned on its turn signal and sounded its siren. However, the sound of the siren apparently startled the lorry driver so that the car he was driving hit the reservation and overturned onto Brigadier General Airlangga’s car which was next to him.
“The Pajero, driven by Brigadier General Eko Setyawan Airlangga, turned right with the intention of making a U-turn and turning on the turn signal and sounding the siren. Then the truck driver who was going to Cilengsi was shocked and he swerved right so he hit the concrete reservation and the car flipped over and hit a Mitsubishi Pajero car,” explained Kisdiyanto.
Kisdiyanto confirmed that there were no casualties in the crash. Brigadier General Airlangga and his wife were immediately evacuated after their car was hit by a lorry.
“The witness who was at TKP provided assistance from the left front door of the Pajero car which was open and took Rita’s wife Brigadier General Eko Setyawan Airlangga followed by Brigadier General Eko Setyawan Airlangga,” Kisdiyanto concluded .
