Nvidia is the undisputed leader in the graphics card market. But status alone is not enough, and the manufacturer must remain committed to creating and launching new equipment that meets the needs of its consumers.
Thus, without anyone noticing, the American firm has discreetly launched a new version of the GeForce RTX 3050 model with lower energy consumption than the original version. The information was disclosed through a copy of the MSI partner.
A new GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card has arrived
Almost unnoticed, Nvidia has released a version of its GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card. But this new chip has slightly different specifications compared to the original model launched in January 2022. Although it maintains the same technical specifications, the new RTX 3050 brings a significant improvement in terms of of energy, in the sense that it consumes less energy.
This information became known once a MSI model of this new version of the graphics card. More specifically, it's the GeForce RTX 3050 VENTUS 2X 8G OCV1 custom model from Nvidia's Taiwanese partner. The "V1" element was the key to understanding that we were dealing with a new model.
Perhaps many were already waiting for the arrival of this new version, since they were already there in February voices that Nvidia was preparing an RTX 3050 with lower power consumption. We remind you that this is the most basic model of Nvidia's RTX 30 line.
Overall, the specifications therefore maintain the characteristics of the initially released model. The chip has 2,560 CUDA cores at a turbo frequency of 1,807MHz. It also has a capacity of 8GB of GDDR6 memory at 14GHz.
The highlight is therefore the consumption which has dropped from 130W in the original model to 115W in the new version of this GeForce RTX 3050. This change has also favored the change of the 8-pin to 6-pin PCIe connector. And as rumors had previously advanced, the current graphics chip is therefore the GA107, which replaces the GA106.
