A few weeks after the launch at GIIAS 2022, detikOto tested the Mitsubishi New Xpander Cross in a dynamic and rather extreme way.
We had time to test this machine for slalom maneuvering in puddles. But the Xpander Cross is actually designed as a tough everyday car. So how attractive is this car when used every day?

Design: Heavy duty version of Xpander
The latter Xpander Cross uses the same basic design language as the New Xpander. However, so that the elements of the SUV are strong, different contours and accessories are incorporated.
It can be seen from the front fascia that there is a new grille pattern, T-Shape pattern lights, to a new bumper that is more “busy” and features the impression of an SUV.
The side view doesn’t look like much can be changed. Xpander Cross still carries ring 17 rims wrapped in 205/55 tires in the Premium CVT package type.
In terms of dimensions, this car is larger than its class rivals, namely the Honda BR-V and Suzuki XL-7. Not only that, the ground clearance of the Xpander Cross is also the highest, i.e. 220 mm for the CVT type and 225 for the MT.

Meanwhile, from behind, you can feel New Xpander’s signature aura. The LED T-shaped pattern brake lights are in line with the headlights, there is a tailgate decoration, so Mitsubishi has pinned a new bumper pattern on this Xpander Cross.
As he entered the cabin, the formidable aura thickened. We took a look inside, because the New Xpander Cross is now equipped with the same instrument cluster and steering wheel as the Pajero Sport.
‘Simple’ changes of these two things can cause its shape to change completely. Apart from that, the latest Xpander Cross also has additional wireless charging capabilities in the front area up to a 360 camera that can appear through the head unit screen. Advance!
Well, by design, Xpander Cross is one of the most distinctive in its class. Especially now in the newest type, Mitsubishi crams various upgrades and features that make it more confident to fight in the hot class, the 7-passenger LSUV.
