Arrest team arrests two suspects, confiscates ‘long gun’

A police arrest team has detained two suspects at a house after hours of action in Biervliet in Zealand. A “long weapon” was also seized in the action. It is unclear what exactly the two are suspected of.

At around half past eight, police received reports of a man walking down the street with a “long weapon”. The Special Intervention Service (DSI) and a police helicopter were then called.

According to passers-by, several roads were closed and the arrest team was waiting just outside the village, he wrote Zealand broadcasting. The helicopter has been flying over Biervliet since 10 this morning.

A police spokesman announced around noon that the police helicopter no longer flies over the Biervliet. “This is often a sign that the action is drawing to a close.” The suspects were transferred to the police station for further investigations.
