Disney+’s ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ is an action-adventure series created by Cormac and Marianne Wibberley that serves as a sequel to the ‘National Treasure’ film series. The story follows a 20-year-old girl named Jess Valenzuela, an extraordinarily enterprising dreamer who is searching for answers about her family. With the help of her friends, she embarks on an adventurous journey across the world to recover the lost treasures of Pan-American and uncover her family’s secrets.
The action-packed narrative is paired with impressive performances from a talented cast of Lisette Olivera, Justin Bartha, Lyndon Smith, Breeda Wool and Armando Riesco. The show preserves the essence of the film and entertains the audience at all times. In addition, the various places where the characters find themselves during the search for treasure suggest where the movie “National Treasure: Edge of History” was actually filmed.
National Treasure: Edge of History TV Series Filming Locations
“National Treasure: Edge of History” was filmed in Louisiana and New Mexico, entirely in Baton Rouge and Santa Fe. Principal photography on the initial iteration of the mystery series reportedly began in February 2022 and wrapped in July of the same year.
Louisiana
Many key sequences of “National Treasure: Edge of History” take place in and around Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s capital and second largest city. The film crew uses the Celtic Media Center facility at 10000 Celtic Drive to film several key scenes from the adventure series.
The film studio houses 7 different sets of various sizes, 5 acres of greenery and 100,000 square feet of space. Of all the soundstages, they appear to be using a Stage 7 series for the production.
Additionally, the City Club of Baton Rouge, formerly the old Post Office, at 355 North Boulevard also serves as a major manufacturing site along with the former Chase Bank building. During filming, cast and crew members are also seen filming various parts in and around the city’s Garden District.
New Mexico
After finishing the production of the first season scene in Baton Rouge, the production team of ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ traveled to Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico at the end of June 2022. Apparently they camped in various places of the world.
Cities to reflect different scenes against suitable backgrounds. Located at an elevation of approximately 7,200 feet above sea level, Santa Fe is the highest state capital in the entire country. There are several sectors that influence the economy of the city and tourism is one of the significant elements of all.
Also known as the City of Diversity, Santa Fe is home to a number of museums, including the New Mexico Museum of Art, the Museum of International Folk Art, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Site Santa Fe, and the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art. to name a few. In addition, it has hosted the production of various film projects over the years. Some of them are ‘The Ridiculous 6’, ‘The Magnificent Seven’, ‘The Book of Eli’ and ‘Walker’ from Texas Ranger.
