Buffalo Bills player Stefon Diggs is a profile in American football.
Now he has surprised a five year old Bills supporter with a very special Christmas present. The background is probably so exciting:
The Buffalo Bills invited Aydin to their training facility in upstate New York this summer, right after Aydin lost his father. The father died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Surprised: – Nice to spread the love
Diggs then spoke with Aydin at the training facility. The bond that was created between the two was clear and strong. The Buffalo Bills player himself had a difficult childhood, having lost his father as a child.
The boy also met the hero again in connection with a fight.
Surprised with a gift
And then, a few days ago, life-long new memories and tears were created among children and adults alike, she says WKBW, Television channel in Buffalo, New York.
Aydin was happy to have another chance to meet Diggs. But Diggs had something with him.
In a video shot by Aydin’s mother and the Buffalo Bills during pre-game warmups, we see Diggs approaching the youngster.
– Do you remember me? she says she first.
– Yes, Aydin smiles, excited and shy at the same time.
– I have a Christmas present for you. Merry Christmas, Diggs then says, before patting him on the head.
Diggs then gave Aydin a shoebox containing a special pair of trainers. The shoes had a picture of Diggs on one, and a picture of Aydin and his late father, Nicholas, on the other.
The boy burst into tears when he opened the shoe box.
According to wkbw.com, Aydin says the shoes meant a lot to him, which is why he got excited.
– He just reminded me of my father, he says.
– Thank you
Alma Duric, Aydin’s mother, says Diggs has left quite a mark on her son in so many ways.
Duric says he can’t thank Diggs enough for what he did.
– He brought us happiness when we were literally down in the deep valley of darkness. She made Aydin feel so special. The meetings affected him in such a positive way, his mother tells the TV channel and adds, proudly:
– He also won an award for being a good classmate.
– Cross-country skiing near death
Created by the artist
The shoes were created by designer Alyssa Milano, who designs the club’s supporters’ clothing, who says she decided to do something nice after hearing Aydin’s story.
– Seeing Diggs with Aydin was one of the best moments of my life. I am very grateful to all the people who helped make this happen. Most important of all, Diggs, he says.
Diggs himself expressed himself on Twitter after the cordial meeting:
– Not many people know what it’s really like to lose a father. I remember feeling like I lost everything. I had to make myself a man. But it takes a village to raise a child, so always make sure you’re doing something good for someone in the future! Merry Christmas, little Aydin ❤️, she writes, by the way.
Aydin himself says he loves his shoes and they are so special that he only wants to wear them when the Bills play.
