The British king Charles III Charles III, full name Charles Philip Arthur George Mountbatten-Windsor, is a king and statesman he took over duties at Buckingham Palace from his brother, Prince Andrew, after he stopped performing official duties due to the sex scandal in the United States, wrote in the “Sun”, quoted by BTA.
Prince Andrew, who is the Duke of York, will continue to live at Windsor Castle near London. Since 2003, he has had the right to live on the Royal Lodge estate for 75 years. In addition to the 31-bedroom house of the same name, it includes 40 hectares of land, on which several other residential buildings stand.
Prince Andrew was forced to step down from his duties in late 2019 when American Virginia Giuffre publicly announced that the Queen’s son was among several men American financier Jeffrey Epstein forced her to have sex with at the age 17.
Giuffre subsequently sued the Duke of York, seeking compensation for his physical and moral damages. After an unsuccessful attempt to have the request rejected, the prince, who denied all wrongdoing, chose to settle the dispute with Giuffrè out of court. The amount of compensation the woman received was not officially announced, but UK media reported it amounted to £12 million.
Prince Andrew has been invited to the Christmas party at Sandringham Palace given by the King tomorrow. His ex-wife Sarah Ferguson will also be among the guests for the first time in 30 years.
