While the state of health of Pelé worries more and more in Brazil, one of the daughters of the “king” Kely Cristina Nascimiento has published a photo in the night between Friday and Saturday in which she is with her father.
Kely Cristina Nascimento, one of Pelé’s daughters, posted a photo of the cancer-stricken Brazilian legend in her hospital bed in São Paulo on Friday night, with the caption “one more night together.”

“We are still here, in the fight and in the faith. One more night together,” he wrote alongside the photo, posted on Instagram around 11pm local time, in which he embraced his 82-year-old bedridden father, only one side of his face it is visible.
Albert Einstein Hospital, where the only winner of three World Cups is located, announced on Wednesday that his colon cancer was “progressing” and that he needed “more treatment to treat kidney and heart failure.” Minutes before this press release was published, two of Pelé’s daughters, Kely Nascimento and Flavia Arantes, had announced on their Instagram accounts that their father would be spending Christmas in the hospital.
Hospitalized since 29 November
On Sunday, Kely posted a photo of Flavia massaging her father’s left foot while watching the World Cup final on TV. After the match, the “futebol” icon congratulated Argentinian Lionel Messi on his “deserved” crowning against France (3-3 ap, 4-2 tab). During this World Cup, he saw Neymar equal his goalscoring record with the Seleçao (77).
The man many consider to be the greatest footballer of all time has received many messages of support following his hospitalisation, most notably from French star Kylian Mbappé, who called on us to “pray for the king”.
Pele had been admitted to Albert Einstein Hospital on November 29 for a re-evaluation of his chemotherapy treatment after colon cancer was diagnosed in September 2021.
