The cause between Ripple (XRP) and the American Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been going on for almost two years. Both sides are still fighting with each other to convince the judge that they are right. For Ripple, the so-called “Hinman documents” are one of the most important pieces of evidence, but the SEC is again asking the court not to use these documents in the lawsuit.
Hinman documents XRP lawsuit
Although the lawsuit has now entered its final stages, the SEC continues to do everything possible to prevent the Hinman documents from being used by Ripple. Hinman’s documents include a speech made a few years ago by senior SEC official William Hinman. In this speech, Hinman is said to have said this ethereum (ETH) none safetyor the effect is.
According to Ripple’s camp, the documents may contain evidence that XRP could not have been a stock during the time Ripple was selling the tokens to customers, thus exempting Ripple, so to speak.
However, according to the SEC, the release of the lawsuit documents violates the right to the lien. However, the judge has several times already he told the SEC to turn over only the Hinman documents. However, the SEC is trying now again almost desperate to keep the documents.
“The SEC argues that the documents of Hinman’s speech are protected by lien. However, if these documents were made public, the SEC would not be able to make any such argument in the future (on appeal in this litigation or other litigation), which would be highly damaging to the SEC.

Why are the Hinman documents important to Ripple?
Ripple attorney Jeremy Hogan is baffled by the SEC’s action. According to him, it is madness that the SEC is once again trying to keep the documents closed, while Ripple has already been repeatedly ruled in favor by the judge:
“The SEC still claims Hinman’s emails are confidential, despite losing that case 100 times. I’m baffled. And it makes me curious again what it contains.
The SEC is STILL arguing that Hinman’s emails are privileged despite having already missed that issue about 100 times. Drives me crazy.
And it makes me curious (is that a word?) about what’s in them. https://t.co/E0yRzKIXI1 pic.twitter.com/Bqc6SRgL01
