“The jokes about Mbappé have gone too far”; French Football Federation files complaint against Martinez French FA president files complaint against Argentine Emiliano Martinez

The French Football Federation has filed a complaint over Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s taunting of superstar Kylian Mbappé.

The president of the French Football Federation filed a complaint about this with the president of the Argentine Football Federation. Following the World Cup final, videos and images of Martinez mocking Mbappé in the dressing room and at the Victory Parade in Argentina were circulated on social media.

A letter sent by French FA president Noel Le Gret said Martinez’s actions had been “excessive”. In the context of a sporting event, I think this excess is unusual. He says this is a very despicable thing.

A video has surfaced of Martinez requesting a moment of silence for Mbappé during the celebration in the dressing room. Later, a photo of Mirtines holding a doll with Mbappe’s face in his hand was released at the Victory Parade in Buenos Aires. A photo of Mbappe is pasted in place of the doll’s face.

Argentina led until the first 80 minutes of the match, but Mbappé reunited France with a brilliant performance. Even though France lost, Mbappé was the superstar of the final with a hat-trick.
