In these days the entrepreneur and president of the Rotary Club of Jackson Heights of New Yorkdon, Juan Lukis, has arrived from the United States, bringing donations for people with disabilities.
The aid will particularly benefit the blind, the sick and children. They brought 20 pairs of crutches, 12 wheelchairs, walkers with seats and brakes, and seats used to bathe those unable to move.
The donation also included 30 canes for the blind, an oxygen loading balloon, 4-foot canes and 30 boxes of diapers for the elderly.
Lukis, married to a Paraguayan, has been delivering this aid for more than 20 years, and reported that another shipment is on its way, which will arrive in our country in these days.
For the Feast of the Three Kings, children will also receive gifts: the Lord has donated 150 boxes of crayons, 100 boxes of colored pencils with erasers, pencil sharpeners and diaries. In addition, another 80 boxes of colored pencils with plastics and sharpeners, plus 10 boxes of plastics and 80 boxes of rulers with craft scissors.
The Rotary Club of New York has previously partnered with Rotary Fernando de la Mora, delivering donations to hospitals and libraries.
In Asuncion they brought aid to the Burn Hospital, then to Isla Pucu, Eusebio Ayala, Coronel Oviedo, the People of God of Caaguazú, the Karapaí area, Concepción, etc.
