Can you distinguish the works of Fyodor Bondarchuk from the films of other directors?
Fyodor Bondarchuk is considered one of the most famous directors of Russian cinema. The son of famous parents, the creator of the legendary epic “War and Peace” by Sergei Bondarchuk and actress Irina Skobtseva, he could easily go through life, taking advantage of the benefits that a popular surname gave. However, he managed to prove that he is not just the heir to the parental insignia, but a successful successor to the creative dynasty. Interestingly, Fedor initially did not intend to connect his life with cinema. After graduation, he went to MGIMO, but just during the entrance exams, Sergei Bondarchuk came into the audience and practically led his son by the hand to VGIK. If Fedor’s acting debut took place at the age of 15 in the role of Tsarevich in his father’s film “Boris Godunov”, then he first sat down in the director’s chair in 1993. His directorial debut is was the film “I Love”, a musical performance by Lyudmila Gurchenko.
