“We warn about Iran’s further intentions, which they (the Iranian authorities) are trying to keep secret – about deepening and intensifying the supply of modern weapons to Russia, expanding the uranium enrichment project and on the intensification of attacks [Izraēlai] friendly countries of the region,” Barnea said.
Earlier, Washington had expressed concern about a possible “large-scale defense partnership” between Russia and Iran.
For the first time, information about Iran’s arms deliveries to Russia appeared in August of this year.
Iran’s drone deliveries were first reported in the US press. This information was later confirmed by the US administration.
Then White House press secretary Karina Jean-Pierre said that Russia received the Mohajer-6 and Shahed drones from Iran in August.
In October, Russia attacked Kiev with Iranian-made kamikaze drones.
Ukraine identified these drones as Iranian “Shahed-136” drones.
Iran initially denied supplying drones to Russia but admitted it in November, but the court said it was before Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
The December 10 report by the US Institute of Military Studies says that Moscow has most likely already received a new batch of Iranian drones or will receive them in the near future.
