Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Shin Ta Yong seen several times getting angry in the 2022 AFF Cup match between Indonesian national team against Cambodia, Friday (23/12).
This was shown by Shin as the match entered the final minutes. Firstly, Shin was angry with the action of Marcelino Ferdinan, who didn’t get up immediately after being hacked by his opponent.
Secondly, Shin looked displeased when Ilija Spasojevic lifted the ball into the Cambodian midfield instead of cutting straight in. It happened during injury time.
“In fact, I’m grateful that I managed to get the win, but what makes me angry, in my opinion, is that the team didn’t show their best game to the fans, they scored more goals,” Shin said.
The South Korea coach said the player’s performance was not optimal. This is none other than why most players don’t compete for two to three months before the 2022 AFF Cup.
“It’s a pity that today’s match made me angry. So the match from before [di ruang ganti] I ask the team to focus more on the future, to be better,” said the 53-year-old coach.
“The performance that worried me came true, but I still want to congratulate the players on the win,” he said at the press conference.
In this match Indonesia national team won 2-1. Garuda’s team’s two goals were scored by Egy Maulana Vikri and Witan Sulaeman. Meanwhile, Cambodia managed to steal a goal from a corner which was converted by a header from Saret Krya.
Indonesia national team will face Brunei Darussalam in their next match at KLFA Stadium, Malaysia on Monday (26/12). Fachruddin Arianto and his friends are expected to leave for Kuala Lumpur on Saturday afternoon (24/12).
