The second season of “White Lotus”, set in Italy, is an open homage to the cinema of that country and breaks audience records among HBO Max series. “White Lotus” is set against the backdrop of Taormina, Noto and Palermo, in Sicily (the first season took place in Hawaii). The second part of the series averaged 9.5 million viewers across all platforms, 60 percent more than the first season, according to Warner. The format is similar to that of the British “Downtown Abbey”, but transferred to modern times, or rather the millionaires who go on vacation and the poor employees in their service.
