Thanks to an uneven rebound, Pastrňák led to a large turnover, Boston is still celebrating

Even though the hockey players from Boston quickly lost in the NHL to Winnipeg 0:2, they are finally celebrating another victory. David Pastrňák spearheaded the big breakthrough with a curious goal, which he then assisted to equalize. The Bruins won 3:2 and scored in their 20th home game of the season. Pastrňák was named the second star of the match.

The Jets took the lead in the 118th second after an error by home forward Pavel Zacha, who lost the game in the post. In the 8th minute after Harkins’ hit, the Bruins were already two goals down.

In the 33rd minute Foligno throws the puck into the opposing trocar, the Winnipeg goalkeeper tries from behind the goal, but the shot unexpectedly bounces off the back fence, another cue rebound sends it straight onto the post by Pastrňák who scores easily.

He scored his 22nd goal in the competition’s current year. At the same time, the Bruins began a major turnaround. He contributed to it himself less than three minutes later when his shot was deflected by DeBrusk past Hellebuyck and it was equalised. It was Pastrňák’s 23rd assist of the season. The Havířovsk native has already scored in ten games in a row, scoring thirteen points (8+5).

Foligno then scored the winning goal in the 52nd minute, and Boston continues to dominate the entire NHL. Furthermore, they became the tenth team in the history of the competition to score in each of the first twenty home games of the season. Eighteen of those ended in a Bruins victory.

Martin Nečas helped Carolina win 4:3 in overtime on Pittsburgh ice with a goal. The first three goals of the match were scored in the 18th minute in 32 seconds.

Crosby opened the scoring, but Nečas responded quickly, promptly sending the puck into an open door. His teammate Chatfield quickly scored Carolina’s second goal, but the hosts turned the game around in the next period with strikes from McGinn and Rust.

Staal sent the match into extra time in the 56th minute, which was stopped by Slavin after just 23 seconds.
