Promoter Ondřej Novotný has now described Vémola’s condition in hospital and admitted that if he had had this information sooner, he would have canceled the match himself.

Vémola was in hospital for several weeks and although there were reports that the match could still take place, it was eventually announced otherwise. Vémola later released a statement in which he described his state of health.
According to him, it was definitely not going well and his life was even in danger. These have now been confirmed by promoter Ondřej Novotný in the show OCTAGON Hype.
“I know about his diagnosis, but of course I don’t want to discuss it further. I went to see him in the hospital on Sunday. He is better, but I must say that if I had known what I know now, I would have canceled the match as early as Thursday or Wednesday.
