Vienna Quiz – Where a very old Christkindl shows up in Vienna

At this point every week we show a photo from Vienna and ask three questions about it. Anyone who correctly answers even one of these three questions has the right to participate.

Among the reports with correct answers, which will reach us by next Thursday, there will be a bottle of Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Terrassen 2021 from the Wachau domain (www.domaene-wachau.at) raffled off. To participate in the lottery, you must answer at least one question correctly and provide a postal delivery address. The legal process is excluded. Winners will be notified directly.

1. It is the epitaph of the humanist Johannes Cuspinian in St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. On December 7, 1493, he received the poet’s laurels from King (later Emperor) Maximilian I.

2. Johannes Cuspinian appeared as a diplomat at the “Vienna Double Wedding” of 1515.

3. In the Middle Ages, a book doctor was an academically trained physician who (unlike craft surgeons) did not lend a hand himself.
