Belluno, 22 December 2022 – About three months after the end of the works, the ribbon was cut at the Calvi gym this morning. The building, annexed to the accountancy institute, has undergone a series of adaptation and redevelopment interventions that have made it practically new. «An investment of just over 1 million euros made by the Province, with the aim of guaranteeing a space for sport for the students of the Calvi institute, but also for the benefit of the local sports clubs» underlines Lucia Da Rold, provincial councilor with responsibility for school construction.
THE INTERVENTIONS
The redevelopment project of the Calvi gym was approved at the end of 2020, while the works started in May 2021. Initially, it involved seismic adaptation and energy efficiency works, with the installation of a thermal coat and new windows . At the end of 2021 it was decided to expand the project and also proceed with the adaptation for public entertainment, with interventions on the plant engineering and on the electrical part of the building.
“The works were completed at the end of summer 2022 and with the start of the school year, the Calvi students were able to use the renovated gym” explains councilor Da Rold. “The Province is intervening on various school structures, to provide welcoming and safe spaces for children, teachers and all school staff”.
On the sidelines, the new library was also inaugurated, named after the former student poet Francesco Piemonte. The collection of books finds space in a renovated place thanks to a project conceived and implemented by the school, which has seen the collaboration of various local businesses and a provincial contribution of 15 thousand euros, used for light building interventions and for new painting.
«Library and gymnasium – underlines the president of the Province, Roberto Padrin – are two important spaces in the growth of children, which intervene on two complementary aspects of training. So today is a day of celebration for the Calvi institute which is inaugurating not only two areas, but new perspectives for the future of this school and its students».
