Crowned world champion with the Argentine team, Lionel Messi has broken the record for the most liked photo on Instagram. Published three days ago on his account, a series of snapshots today has 71.2 million hearts and almost 2 million comments.
“WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!!! 🌎🏆 I dreamed about it so many times, I wanted it so badly that I still can’t believe it….,” the soccer star’s post reads. “Thank you very much to my family, to everyone who supports me and also to everyone who believed in us. We have shown once again that Argentines, when they fight together and are united, are capable of achieving anything. The credit goes to this group, which is above individuality, it is the strength of all of us who fight for the same dream which was also the dream of all Argentines… We did it!”
The previous photo with the most likes on Instagram was that of an egg, posted in 2018 as a snob at the record then held by Kylie Jenner. The single publication of the @world_record_egg account now has more than 58 million likes.
