St. Paul Brazilian soccer legend Pele’s health continued to deteriorate.

“He is showing cancer progression and needs more intensive care due to kidney and heart problems,” the G1 news portal quoted from a medical report from the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo.

Pelé has been in hospital since November 29 to reset chemotherapy for colon cancer. According to media reports, chemotherapy hadn’t worked for the 82-year-old recently.

His daughter Kely Nascimento has announced that she will be spending Christmas with her father in the hospital. “We’re going to turn this room into a sambadrome (just kidding), we’re also going to make caipirinhas (no kidding),” she wrote on Instagram.
