Microsoft has now released one emergency update to Windows Server to address a known bug that prevents creation of virtual machines using Hyper-V hosts from working correctly after an update released in December.
Computer that plays writes that the error applies to virtual machines managed by System Center Virtual Machine Manager and using Software Defined Networking. Both Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022 will be affected.
The emergency update is not installed automatically, but interested parties should look up the KB numbers for the December updates (KB5021237 and KB5021249) at Microsoft update directory and download and install them manually.
