New York, (EFE extension).- New York state will light ten monuments or heritage sites tonight in blue and yellow in honor of Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky’s visit to Washington this Wednesday, his first foreign trip since the war began in his country.
Most of the illuminated places are skyscrapers or Manhattan landmarks, such as the Empire State or the World Trade Center, but there are also crowded bridges, the front of the bus station or even Niagara Falls (upstate) , according to State Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday.
It is common for these places considered iconic in New York to be lit up in one way or another depending on the festivities, generally in the colors of the national flag but other times in a different way, adapting to each motif.

Hochul recalled that his government has banned all state agencies from signing agreements or doing business of any kind with Russia, strengthened the sanctions control system against Russian companies identified by the federal government and opened a web page for New Yorkers able to offer aid and assistance to Ukrainian refugees.
