After arriving in the United States, Zelensky went to Washington, where at 14:00 local time (21:00 Latvian time) he was supposed to visit US President Joe Biden.
Subsequently, both went to bilateral talks in the Oval Office.
The program concludes with Zelensky’s speech to the Congress at 16:30 (23:30 Latvian time).
Zelenskyi went to the US from Poland. Most likely, a US Air Force aircraft was used in the flight.
This is Zelensky’s first overseas visit since the full-scale invasion of Russia on February 24 this year.
In honor of Zelensky’s visit, Ukrainian flags were flown in Washington.
Zelensky will also address Congress during his visit to Washington.
It has already been reported that the United States announced on Wednesday that it will deliver the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine to help Kiev repel continued Russian missile attacks. The delivery of the “Patriot” is included in the 1.85 billion military aid package.
