Freiburg: Suspected thieves identified in Rieselfeld district – police advise increased vigilance
Freiburg (ots) –
In the Rieselfeld district of Freiburg, there are currently increasingly suspicious perceptions in relation to burglaries.
On December 20, 2022, residents of an apartment building on Bertha-von-Suttner-Strasse reported an attempt to the police Theft with. Apparently, unknown persons had tried to force open the door of an apartment, but without success.
According to witness statements, already on December 12, 2022, two male suspects tried to gain access to the apartments on Adelheid-Steinmann-Strasse. According to the current state of knowledge, a wrong key was used to manipulate several apartment doors, possibly to flush out the apartments.
A resident noticed the men through noises, opened the apartment door and spoke to the people. They pretended to be looking for a “Müller” apartment. When asked, they reacted evasively and eventually fled.
The two people would have been noticed on the property a few days earlier, as well as in neighboring residential properties. Men are described as follows:
- Suspect: 30-35 years old, spoke German with no accent, blue tattoo on neck, dressed in dark clothes, fair skin
- Suspect: Looks similar to Suspect 1, wearing a black hoodie
Whether the suspects’ sighting is related to a burglary that took place on Cornelia-Schlosser-Allee at the end of November is the subject of the ongoing investigation. There, unknown perpetrators had broken into two apartments one above the other undetected and caused five-figure burglary damage.
The police advise greater vigilance. Witnesses making suspicious remarks are advised to contact the police immediately on 110.
