The golden son of Spanish football and ball wizard Isco ends up in Sevilla after just four months. In the summer he signed a two-year deal with Andalusia, but after disagreements with the new coach, he will end a year and a half early.
While Isco left Real Madrid in the summer to applause from the stands and thanks from fans and management, he will leave Sevilla through the back door.
According to MARCA, Sevilla will announce in the next few hours the termination of Isco’s contract, which was originally supposed to last two years until the summer of 2024. The Benalmádena native only signed for Ramón Sanchéz Pizjuán on August 7, now both parties have agreed unanimously to terminate the contract and Isco will become a free agent player.
Isca was brought to southern Spain by the “father of football” Julen Lopetegui, who built a team around him first in the Spanish national team and then in Real Madrid. But the popular coach was fired after poor results and replaced by “general” Jorge Sampaoli.
At the same time, Isco spoiled the fans in the Nervión neighborhood in the summer. They were looking forward to him returning to the level of his early years at Real, or to his form under Lopetegui in Spain. But he hasn’t had enough time to shine under the popular coach.
During the break for the national teams there should have been an argument with the new Sampaoli coach, according to whom he was not sufficiently prepared and attributed the lack of effort in training to him. He should have informed the players and the management that he wasn’t counting on him.
After that there was to be a heated discussion with sporting director Monchi, and it was clear. Isco cannot continue at Sevilla. Thanks to the farewell of the technical midfielder, the Andalusian club will be able to look for reinforcements in January to help them return to the top of the standings.
And what will happen to Isco? At 30, it will be difficult to find motivation. His talent was unbelievable, sadly his reputation as a “lazy boy” who only errs on his ball skills has been with him throughout his career. But this is no longer enough in today’s modern football.
Unexpectedly, he has the opportunity to go to Wolves, where he would again be welcomed by his “father” Julen Lopetegui. In the summer Isco decided to stay in Spain, now 90% of that won’t happen.
There is also the possibility of leaving for the USA, where Isco would make a good living, would be a star in the league and at the same time would not have to work so much, because his talent would probably still be enough for him in MLS. However, the end of his career cannot be ruled out either, as already in the summer it was said that Isco was no longer motivated to play football.
